No not sure about anything, i just seemed to remember a thread about exactly this on here or FT and that CC lounge is for paid F. But your right of course anybody with an F boarding pass. In any case i look forward i hope to seeing it since i can't remember it from when i actually flew on the concord so well.

The concorde rooom is basically restricted to BA and QF F passengers ( though there are some special case exceptions ) and no access based on OW Emerald status

F award passengers are permitted into the Concorde Room and are permitted dining privileges

I am not sure whether points upgraded passengers are allowed in. BA does not normally permit passengers which have received an involuntary upgrade into the lounge

The Concorde room is indeed open until the 17th Sept, this must be where the "pre-flight" dining for First PAX.

I was permitted into the Concorde Room when upgraded to F using QF FF points. There is no indication on QF boarding passes as to whether the passenger has paid for F, is on an F award ticket, has upgraded with points, or is an operational upgrade. I am not sure if BA indicate invol upgrades on their boarding passes. So unless the lounge guard has a list of eligible/ineligible passengers, there is no way for them to know based on a QF F boarding pass.

NM, I've never flown CX in J. I prefer New Club World over Skybed. Where does the new CX J product sit compared with BA J (NCW) and QF J (Skybed I/II)?
I have not flown BA's latest Club World product, only their previous New Club World. I rate the CX service, food, beverages and IFE as better than BA. I have had a few operational upgrades on CX but never had any on BA (and have flown BA many more times than CX in the last few years).

And since I was wanting to connect to a daytime HKG-Australia flight, CX was a better option than BA ex LHR.

I cannot compare CX New Business Class to QF Skybed II since I have not yet experienced the QF A380 which is the only place Skybed II will be found.

When BA fully pull out of T4, does anyone know what is going to happen to QF lounge access in T4? I presume the lounges will no longer be branded BA and QF will need to fully fund them (in conjunction with OW perhaps). I have loads of questions...

 • Does that mean the BA lounges will become QPs?
 • Will the T4 Arrivals lounge disappear? (already no good if flying on QF29 into T4)
 • If the BA lounges transition to QF, will QF be refitting them in line with the Australian QP's/FLounges?
Also - is it just me or does T4 starting to sound like it will become a leper colony...
National Express coaches now only stop at Terminal 5 and Heathrow Central Area (Terminals 1, 2 and 3). Customers requiring Terminal 4 can either disembark at Terminal 5 and take advantage of the free British Airways transfer bus (which will operate until the end of the summer period), or alight at Central Area (Terminals 1, 2 and 3) and travel on the Heathrow Express or London Underground.
What happens to the QF pax in/out of T4 with such poor land transportation links when BA gives up on T4? I suppose T4 pax will need to transfer terminals via the public train system.

I was under the impression that QF flights would be moving to T3 and that BA would also have their Australia and Far East flights using T3 for some time.

On BA's site they say T3 will have a new Galleries lounge, arrivals lounge and frequent bus connection with T5.

Cheers,
Steve

There are standard landside "London" buses that transport PAX betwixt T4 and T5; We used them last month to get from T4 to/from T5

The LGW express services do not stop at T4, they run T123(Central)-T5-LGW and LGW-T5-T123(Central Bus depot); we were advised T5 is the better stop for those wishing to get to T4. We connected to/from one of the T4 services at T5.

They run every ¼ hour from around 6am-7pm, less frequently outside those hours. The trips can take about 20 minutes with several stops along the way.

And Heathrow Express runs between T5 and Heathrow Central (T1/2/3) and Heathrow Connect runs between T4 and Heathrow Central (T1/2/3) for free land-side connections.

BA writes on the boarding pass that it is an involuntary upgrade so the lounge agents will not permit access nor ( if the person has access via status ) allow them to use the pre-flight dining

The G10 First Lounge at T4 has reopened

Probably due to complaints about the lack of space in the G1 Terraces.

It should be open until at least 17th September and possibly even the 22nd October (when the last of the Non-Asian flights move).

So that means that once BA move on there will be no dedicated F lounge in T4 after 22 Oct. Disappointing as I have QF30 to HKG already booked for Dec 08.

Surely QF won't leave their F and WP pax without their own lounge at a pretty important outstation? Then again if the T3 move happens on time they see it as only 3 months of passenger pain.

Can't wait for the
"Dear pax, during our move to T3 QF will be operating a reduced lounge service, we appriciate your understanding during this move.

To assist in this move we ask that all people under 160cm tall sit on the shoulders of those taller than 161cm. We also request that only those wearing red shoes with wingtips come to the lounge on Tuesday's or on Thursday's if the moon is waxing. Those with surnames starting with P, Q and S will be admitted only on Sunday's if they can recite the Peter Pepper tongue twister backwards whilst using their mobile email device to tell their boss about the delay. QF apologises for the delay.

For those with laptops we are pleased to annouce mobile power points for use all through the lougne. Please collect your hampster wheel and hampster feed from the HAMpOWER facilitator at the bar.

We thank you for your assitance. QF etc."

I'd be using BA. I find the old Club World seats still found on 777s dreadful but 64K on a 744 with the new seats is a pretty nice spot to be in. Throw in T5 lounge outbound and arrivals lounge inbound and it'll be a nicer experience than QF on this route during the terminal change over. CX is another option - I've only been on their regional flights though.

Cheers,
Steve.

HI ozscot,
i will trying for an upgrade to first on this leg so QF it is.

I do enough running around on BA anyway so time to spice it up.

Understand. Might be worth a quick letter to Qantas to ask them if they have any interim lounge plans - probably they don't know themselves yet.
