Received this yesterday and it feels like a pretty significant reduction in the benefits for BOM card holders. Anyone else still using this card?

Changes are here: [link]. Main changes are:

  1. Purchase interest rate: 20.99% → 23.99% p.a.
  2. Cash advance rate: 21.99% → 23.99% p.a.
  3. Amplify Qantas Rewards annual fee: $75 → $155
  4. Minimum repayment: 2% or $10 → 2.5% or $25, whichever is greater
  5. Interest-free period: Up to 55 days → up to 45 days
  6. Payment due date: Moves 10 days earlier
  7. Lower Qantas Points earn rates, particularly for everyday spending and dining
  8. Additional requirement to receive the 2 complimentary lounge invitations
I know none of this is exactly a surprise, but still… meh. 😅

That's $295 bank fee + $155 rewards fee, total $450 per year.

I earned 80k points in past 12 months... lower that earn rate and it's not looking good all of a sudden... but it was great while it lasted

Yeah… I totally forgot about the annual fee since I got the card as part of my mortgage package, so I was only paying the $75 previously.

But now with the fee increasing to $155 and the lower earn rates, I’m not sure if it’s still worth it. That said, the grass isn’t necessarily greener on the other side either. 😅

My credit card was also free with a home loan some time back, but since then I've always managed to justify the fees vs. the points/lounge passes/free travel insurance. The greener grass may now come from a low cost no-rewards card... I'll have to do some digging
