Had booked Qantas flights (points) Per/Toronto via HK (J) about 10 month's ago, then started to get worried about HK, (covid) so in late Feb found Qantas flights via Vancouver Per/Syd/van/yyz, pre/Eco with about 2hr stop in Vancouver, perfect I thought then last week Qantas changed the Syd/Van leg, so it landed in Van 2hrs after the flight to Toronto had left and no other flights till next day so was told to ring Qan (dread) decided to look for other flights before I spent the rest of the day ringing them, found (J, sale price) flights via Dallas 28-1/2hrs perfect couple hrs in the lounge Syd, and Dallas then on to YYZ, but wait there is more, I don't think the ink was dry off the printer when the bas----s changed it again now with a 9-1/2hr wait in SYD, "I GIVE UP" (wonder what China Air is doing)

Whilst frustrating, I have some sympathies for the airlines - Qantas not the only one doing this sort of ongoing schedule changes, and more prone to issues given Australian geographic location, and thin population base leaves less options for them other than to consolidate and cancel. Add fleet reactivation etc and it’s complex and schedule changes are a fact of life i think for a while.

This series of posts (was every monday for a long time - the above the last in a series) gives an insight into the amount of chopping and changing that has been going on (this series mostly focused on domestic US airlines but you get the idea).
