We're off to Santiago Friday week and after a question I asked in the 'upgrade lottery' thread I realised that I needed to check our seat selection.

When we booked last year we were in 36J/K bulkhead seats in both directions (2/06 and 16/06) but now we are three rows back as 34J/K are the bulkhead seats on the old bird we're now flying on (in both directions!). They are of course not available for me to swap to.

Is it worth ringing and attempting to get the bulkhead seats again, or keep our fingers crossed that we'll get our upgrades in both directions. I suppose with the unrefurbed 744 there's a slightly higher possibility of an upgrade now there's first on the plane (66 total available for J?).

My final question (I promise). Does this change of aircraft also mean it's Skybed Mk1 instead of 2 if we do get those upgrades?

cheers
Pete

It's worth ringing back and asking to change to your original bulkhead seats, just in case the upgrade/s don't come through.

But as mannej says, getting an upgrade could be really good if you manage to snag an old F seat.

Contacted QF by messenger and sorted quickly. Moved to 34j/K on the way over and told we'll be moved to 34a/b on the way back. 36 didn't even have a window!

Fingers still crossed for the upgrade but if not rather be in the seats we want.
