I just checked in for a Qantas flight tomorrow and something seemed different on the boarding pass. I had to compare it against an old boarding pass but the FF details in the service information section have changed.
Up until at least last Sunday it use to be like "FF PLATINUM ONEWORLD E QFxx_xx_x"
Now it is "FF PLATINUM EMERALD QFxx_xx_x"

So the ONEWORLD has been dropped and E expanded to Emerald. Has anyone else noticed this?

Was still FF GOLD ONEWORLD SAPH QF******* for me last Friday....

FF GOLD OW SAPPHIRE QF******** would be better I'd have thought.....

FF PLATINUM ONEWORLD E QFxx_xx
could be be easily mistaken for..
FF PLATINUM ONE ONEWORLD E QFxx_

maybe?

My BP Wednesday = FF PLATINUM ONEWORLD E QFxx_xx_X

My BP tomorrow = FF PLATINUM EMERALD QFxx_xx_X

Hellllooooooo......................if they don't print "ONEWORLD" it clearly saves electrons and we know that the Leprechaun is into saving where he can. Hey, an electron here and an electron there, and pretty soon you've got your self an atom. An atom here and an atom there........................................well, what can I say????

They were talking about officially listing the P1 stuff around now weren't they - no doubt having

FF PLATINUM ONE EMERALD QFxx_x
and
FF PLATINUM ONEWORLD E QF xx_x

would have caused significant confusion.

I think having the words Emerald, Sapphire and Ruby actually make it much clearer to lounge dragons in foreign ports what your status is. Much better to have the full words rather than just E, S and R.

But I agree the simplest and safest solution is to carry your card with you at all times.
