First post! Hi all :)

Have looked around the boards extensively, but my question wasn't really addressed anywhere I could easily find (and after a few hours, my eyes are dropping out of my head a bit here). If it's been covered somewhere, links would be gratefully received...!

I booked an early bird saver flight back at the beginning of the year on SQ - said flight is now about three weeks away - and mindlessly set up a KrisFlyer membership to recoup some FF miles/points. I wasn't playing the game at that point, just focusing on visiting friends in London, so I didn't realise I could have quoted my Velocity membership instead (d'oh!), which would provide enough SCs to bump me up a membership level. I've gone back into the booking via the Singapore website to amend it, but found the FF details are greyed out. I'm locked into KrisFlyer.

Can anyone tell me whether there's a way around this? Or whether I can transfer the the points after the fact...?

My head is spinning from all the reading I've done on AFF over the weekend, so I'm completely in a muddle. Please point me in the right direction!

I would check the booking class first to confirm that it earns on velocity before changing.......I do not have a Krisflyer account so will leave that to those experts on here but i would guess you could phone up and change it.

You can change it at checkin if you like, just check its worthwhile as per the previous post.

@deejo77: Luckily I had the foresight to avoid the cheapest economy fare classes this time around. Velocity does 1 point per mile, same as I'd get with KrisFlyer :) And much better SCs than I got with my ultra-discount Etihad flights last year.

@markis10: Oh, that's pretty straightforward - thanks! Wonder why they wouldn't let me do it online...
