I am getting pretty desperate here lol but I'm keen to try the Mel F lounge on an EK F flight to AKL.

These currently depart at 7:15am but after October when daylight savings kick in that will change to a slightly more manageable 8:15am.

It will be my first time in the F lounge so keen to get some sort of treatment also. I can see that whilst the lounge opens at 5:15am the spa opens at 7am.

With an 8:15am departure I could probably sneak in a treatment at 7:00am or 7:15am as I will probably need to board at 7:30am.

Is there anyway I could arrange with the lounge staff at say 6am when I arrive to pen me down for one of these times ? I hold only Silver QF status.

Or any other tips or suggestions ?

Thanks

I would suggest at checkin you could ask for an appointment to be made, but you'll of course be checking in with EK. So, best bet is just to get to the lounge as early as possible and ask when entering. I recall I've had luck on a JQ flight to SYD.

The operating hours on the QF website are wrong. At least with respect to the closing time of the Spa. I would ring QF and find out what time the Spa opens as it might not be 0700 with a now 2200 closing time for QF9 departure.

*IF* the spa opens at 0700, you probably should be able to get an appt. QF93 departs after 10, so the chances of a paid F pax being there that early are low-ish, but it will still be first come, first served so suggest yes early arrival as possible both for breakfast (or maybe just a coffee) and sign up for an appt.

as an aside the EK F brekky on that sector is not the best imho. I mean it's fine, but I'd say fresh cooked lounge offering would trump it.

In my experience the spa times are very variable. The P1 team told me the hours a few weeks back but I can't recall the morning opening. It shuts early arvo, so I suspect it opens early.

if you don't get info beforehand, I'll ask when next there later this week.

you will just have to try your luck on arrival. But if you don't get it, gives you more time to enjoy breakfast!
