A little observation/question:
Flew CFS-SYD-MEL on Monday after a nice Easter break in the (relative) warmth of the mid north coast. The flight CFS-SYD (VA 1164) was on an E 190 aircraft, shorthand E90 in the booking engine.
These planes have a 1-2 J configuration but if you're booking CFS-SYD as a individual flight, you cannot get a J fare (it only becomes available when booking a connecting flight like CFS-SYD-MEL or such). Why is this?
If it's for the reason I think (no lounge at CFS and presumably no J catering, so really you only get a comfy seat and nothing more) then why then is a J flight from CFS-SYD-MEL around $250 more expensive than just SYD-MEL (if you get nothing extra)?
Also, it seems you can't book CFS-SYD-MEL as a J reward...
Not really griping, just wondering - I almost bought a flexi (was only a few $ more than the only saver fares left) and wonder what wormhole an upgrade to J would land you in...
