Centurion 2011 Benefits

Hi Homer,

Can I ask what type of spend you had to get the invite? :)

It was some years ago now but I think it was around $150K per year at the time. The nature of the spend also plays a role.

My partner spoke with Amex again today and got given the same spiel about not being able to talk about it etc. Management have stepped in "after a number of phone calls from members who have quoted online forums" haha.... Good news travels fast, No?

I wonder who these dastardly people are? ;)

Another reason why Amex needs to start providing a 2 way relationship to consumers via social media instead of their usual "Let's watch with interest, but do nothing".

its a shame for amex that from time to time, we have more accurate information on here than what they could provide from their own team.

Does anyone with a Centurion card in Australia have an electronic copy of the Centurion Card Insurance Policy Product Disclosure Statement (PDS)? I'd be really interested to see if there's any differences between the Platinum Charge and the Centurion insurances.

Given all the benefits already, you've got to wonder how far it will go?

HH diamond
ICH plat
Hertz plat
Avis pselect
SPG gold
qf club
priority pass
cx diamond

No Hertz platinum, at least not for me or on the website. :-|:-|

No it’s Hertz #1 Gold. Also I’m not sure what “Avis pselect” means but it is actually Avis President’s Club.

I just got an email from someone I know in Hong Kong with Centurion who says he got his letter today for free Diamond status and has already applied for his wife. He's lifetime already.

So I expect other countries to start getting their letters soon. But it is being offered in HK!

Hang on, I must have missed something. Are you saying that Amex is giving us an introductory one-year membership but then it's up to us to qualify for subsequent years? That is at odds with all the other Centurion memberships that just roll over from year to year.

I don’t have any sort off access to that information, other than what I asked and was told in an email to my dads mate who has one in Hong Kong. He said it was only for 1 year, but maybe that just means what it does in every other program, that you can then renew it, but I don’t know.

My CX Diamond invitation arrived today. It is for 12 months as has been reported. Also it is for "basic" (their words) ie primary card member only.

Mate in Hong Kong signed up his partner no worries, perhaps it’s different there :p

Can anyone tell me if you can use you MPD number with your QFF number on bookings ?

Saves accruing flights to Asia Miles, and would allow both benefits.

Thanks.

Received my CX Diamond offer in mail this morning - first offer from Cent since I took up card on Mar 22.

Does anybody know how loadings in Y MEL-HKG are?

How are CX with upgrades?

No, just switch the numbers when checking-in, or when managing your booking and after selecting the seats. For example, my dad uses his CX Diamond number when booking tickets within Australia, and selecting seats, but before he flies he changes it to his QF Silver number to earn the minimum 1000 points (instead of about 250 miles).

At the lounge he shows his boarding pass and his CX card to gain access to the J lounge (or F lounge - but internationally he credits to AsiaMiles).

CX are generally very good with upgrades, especially with their own elites, but to be higher up the system you’d need to keep your number in your booking right up to boarding, otherwise they’d see you as whatever other lower status you are.
