Centrally located hotels in Ho Chi Minh City

Hope this is the right forum for my question...

I'm planning a quick three-night trip to Ho Chi Minh City and was looking at the Sofitel Saigon Plaza (17 Le Duan Boulevard) and the Pullman Saigon Centre (148 Tran Hung Dao St Dist 1). Would these be considered centrally located hotels? I'm after a convenient location from which to use as a base for sightseeing, so was thinking being in the city would help.

Reviews of these two hotels as well as recommendations of any others would be most welcome!

Forgot to mention: I'm not aligned with any particular hotel alliance and am not necessarily after a luxury property. So long as the room is clean and the location is good I'm game.

Park Hyatt Saigon is downtown. Very good location.

I can't comment on your two picks so far.

My only experience was at the Eden Saigon. Staff were excellent, rooms were modern and clean.

Sheraton Saigon Hotel & Towers is my only experience. Their paid lounge* option was exceptional with a cooked 'meal' each afternoon.

* The paid lounge is in a different tower to the status lounge and much nicer IMHO.

We have stayed at Eden Star, Siagon Sofitel and Pullman Siagon.

We found all these properties to be quite good. For us, the Pullman was the winner due to proximity to backpacker lane and the free tourist bus that took you to main attractions. If you don't like walking I suggest using uber. They had plenty of promo codes around during our time there and we saved even more on the already cheap fares.

Stayed at the Park Hyatt five times. Love it. Pay for a premium room and enjoy the butler service.

We have stayed at Eden Star, Siagon Sofitel and Pullman Siagon.

It was a10min walk to Ben Thanh market. The food night markets are located next to the markets. Basically the stall owners inside move outside. Backpacker lane is an option for cheap food. Street food is the cheapest of course. Google Siagon Vespa tours for options. If it's your thing you can pick up authentic Nike Dry Fit sportswear close to the markets here:

Stayed in the Pullman this year and it was great. Big rooms, nice pool and great gym. Plus the concierge and front desk team were amazing (had a few issues with stuff outside the hotel they fixed for me). Cheap taxis make location almost irrelevant, but this seemed to work well for most things. I was there on Biz but plenty of sightseers.

Hi OP, I'm not sure when your travel dates. However check out Accor's latest 40% off sale which includes Asian properties such as Pullman Siagon. Read the booking conditions carefully. You could potentially save significant amounts.

Eminere, if you haven't decided yet, then take a look at the Norfolk Hotel.
It's not flashy, but very comfortable & welcoming.
No Pool, if that matters to you, although they do have a shuttle over to their sibling residence about 5min away where you can use the pool gratis.
The price range will fit your budget, and the location is very good.

Yes. Can't post photos until I get home in a week or so. PH Saigon is at the lower end of PH luxury scale, but still nice.

If you want Luxury treat - head for PH Tokyo.

This is not accurate. You can get access to either lounge with status. If you book a Towers room you get access to the towers room via SPG status. If you book a standard non-Towers room you get access to the standard lounge.

We went with the Sofitel in the end and were very happy with the hotel. Great location - easy walking distance to city and sights and quiet at night, felt very safe too considering its adjacency to three embassies. Rooms were nicely appointed; it was the first time for me seeing Lanvin toiletries. :!:

Absolutely loved HCMC, now can't wait to visit Hanoi next.
