Ok im sure we all know American Airlines is the pits and whilst they have launched the "New American" things are not getting better on board.

CDG - JFK was on an old tatty 757 I didn't even know that a single isle plane could fly for 8hrs without needing to re-fuel!! Anyway the fun started as I chose to sit in the new CX lounge in terminal 2 (not bad good for CDG) instead of the horrible AA one. They AA never bothered to update the screens in the lounge or the airport to advise that the flight was boarding. After no delays were mentioned I thought it best to ask the staff in the lounge if the flight was delayed. The response was that I'd better run as they had located my bags and were ready to off load them so I had to bolt to make the plane.

Then on-board I was lucky enough to be able to pre-select an exit row. To be honest the flight was pretty uneventful and not that bad, the food was inedible but I had eaten in the CX lounge prior to boarding. The served us some sort of chicken and rice dish. I tried the chicken and it was more like a sponge than real chicken when I first tried it I thought it was like a mini bocconcini and rice then I was like hang on its chicken!!

LGA - MIA was pretty standard a 737-800 no service just a water, the staff didn't even bother coming around trying to sell you food.

In Miami I walked in and out of the lounge it was so crowded and hot that the terminal provided a better environment to be in while I waited for my connection. There is no food in the AA lounges but they have these coughpy cafes where you can buy food, kinda defeats the purpose! You get two free drinks on entry but it was 10am so not in the mood.

The MIA - EZE was a disaster on the oldest 777 i've been on in a while (like short haul CX or SQ). I was greeted with a green screen as seat back entertainment and there was chewing gum stuck on the cover of my inflight magazine (see pics). The staff were so surly and rude that it was almost funny in a sense where you think its impossible for someone to hate their job even more. Once again the food was a disaster and the staff came through with water I think once during the 9hr flight....anyway always try to avoid them if you can (as if you didn't know that already) but as they are part of OW there are always going to be times when you have to suck it up and enjoy the AA hospitality!!

Did you actually have to visit/stop in New York and Miami, or were these only transit ports?

Yeah I stopped in NYC for the weekend.....otherwise I would have been on a BA flight via London!
