Just received this warning from our travel agent

Increased security during Barack Obama's visit on 16-17 November
Security will be heightened on 16 and 17 November in the nation’s capital and in the city of Darwin, when Barack Obama visits.

Obama will arrive at Canberra International Airport (CBR) on 16 November. The following day, the President is expected to make an address at Parliamant House, before departing for Darwin on 17 November.

With road closures to allow Obama’s 30 vehicle convoy to pass by uninterrupted, delays can be expected in the vicinity of locations he will visit.

Disruption is likely on Kings Avenue and Morshead drive, which lead to Parliament
house from Canberra Airport, as well as in the vicinity of the US embassy on Moonah Place. Whilst Obama’s itinerary for Darwin has yet to be released, delays are possible on Bagot Road- the main thoroughfare between Darwin international Airport (DRW) and the city- in the event of any road closures.

We recommend that travellers allow additional time to complete any journey through Canberra International Airport on the 16th and 17th and Darwin International Airport on 17 November. This will be due to increased security checks.

So too, may passengers experience some delays on roads in and out of both airports.

So too will any flights going into CBR / DRW around that time, additional bags searches, photo and facial recognition, men and women in dark suits and sunglasses - need i say more

I'm kinda wondering what time he will be arriving \ departing CBR and kinda hoping that it's not around peak hour as my work is near the airport and I don't really want to spend ages sitting in traffic.
That said I might take a quick drive out to the airport (5 minutes down the road) at lunch time and take a look at AF1...

CBR is easy to avoid the airport. Besides we're used to celebrities etc coming here.

Another day, another one.

We are?

I'm hoping that they won't have jets doing circles over the city during this visit like when GWB was here.
