You must have signfiicant spending to get that many F or J flights

so are you doing stuff like Melb to UK , 256,000 qff points J

what else can you recommend

Most of my award flying has been family travel to Asia - SIN, HKG, BKK ..... + a few LHR & LAX.

I earn the majority of the points via CC, however quite a few from flying. When there is a decent special I will always purchase tickets rather than award. Also have a QFF Amex Ult card which is very rewarding for QF & restaurants x 3/$ - foreign spend & hotels x 2/$

CBA Dia is ok for QFF but the cap limit is a real downer and means other cards are required.

I suppose if you use points for flight center vouchers, and assuming source of points all carry a ATO AMEX surcharge rate, which is tax deductible for some, then you are essentially buying the vouchers at 50% off. If you travel for work then its almost free after top bracket, 2% rip off tax and medicare obligations. And you get your points and the best part, dont have to fly qantas.

Can I check with the good people here whether CBA award points are awarded for paying ATO bills with the AMEX diamond card? Just received mine now and the online CBA chat guy wasn't sure.

First rule - don't EVER ask the bank!

Hi gang,

(sorry I'm so late to this thread..)

I recently got myself the CBA diamond AMEX and MC, and I literally have NO idea on what it's good for, so I did some online research, and soon enough, I found this amazing forum.

This was one of the questions I had when the bank lady was trying to sell it to me (I'm sure she gets a commission or a bonus for signing me up or something..)

The only reason why I was interested in the CBA diamond awards program, was the idea of saving up points for free flights! (have I come to the right place? haha)

So, now that I have my card, what do i do?

that's my question.. what do i do?

do I call CBA and tell them that I want ALL my points going towards Qantas points? or use it for "flight centre vouchers" (i don't even know what this is)

Please help a brother out..
