Looks like Cathay wants to clamp down ton multi FF (using one for benefits and a different one for earn).

This may affect a few of us who book CX Y on non earning QFF booking class but want our QF status benefits.

Presumably written into the Asia Miles T&C..
So can they prevent you flipping between two other programs.

And all because CX doesn't properly support FQTV and FQTS.

Am I missing something or is this not meaningless? As an example, I fly economy and credit to cx but flash a Oneworld sapphire card, it’s not like they’d reject me from the lounge right?

Actually maybe they’d restrict baggage benefits so that makes some sense

I have an upcoming booking with CX with my QFF number in the booking.

I have a Flex ticket, I'd like to upgrade using Asia Miles, and there's availability. But I cannot upgrade because I cannot change the frequent flyer in my booking to my CX number, which seems to be required to process a mileage upgrade.

I’ve called the English contact centre 5x and on no occasion were the agents able to change the frequent flyer number, but one call to the Mandarin number sorted it out. Perhaps the edict hasn’t filtered through to Guangzhou where their Canto/Mandarin call centre is?

On Flyertalk there's general complaints about the CX Filipino call centre’s competence so you may need to HUACA a few times.

So does this mean that if I have my CX Asiamiles (no status) number my CX bookings, I cannot use my QFF LTG to enter the CX lounges?

Sadly I think it seems that way.
I didn’t think too much of it at the time but a few weeks ago when we came back through HKG, I had an issue where check in at PVG hadn’t added my QR Plat number (my mistake) and Pier F lounge had to get a supervisor to come and manually enter my number to allow us entry. She did then comment that in a few weeks time the rules were changing and that I wouldn’t have got in.

I don’t see any reasons of changing ur FF details after check in. Only reasons is if they want to accumulate CX status point yet want to enjoy their lounges (based on their other OW status).
