Cathay check in at HKG

Tomorrow I'm transiting HKG, arriving JAL In the early afternoon and departing CX in the evening. If my bags are not checked through, is CX check in available all day at HKG? ( The web site appears to say no), or will I have to lug my cases into Kowloon to be checked in? ( Or store my bags at the airport, I guess)

Cathay allows airport check-in and bag drop from 24 hours prior to departure.
