Hi All,
does anyone have recent experience/recommendations on pre-booked car transfer from JFK to Manhattan (and return)?
2 Adults, 2 teenagers, luggage x4.
Not interested in shared shuttle, taxi, or public transport.
Cheers!

Blacklane

Use them all the time.
You’ll all easily get in a Suburban.

I was booked by the travel organiser "ExecuCar" last time I was in JFK. We got a black GMC Yukon XL. Note that there are lots of town car companies. I suspect t drivers and vehicles are likely independent contractors who just get jobs from the booking companies. At least that's what the driver told me.

However note that Uber has the high end Uber Black SUV which is higher level of service and better and larger vehicle type compared to the UberXL.

I should have mentioned in my previous post the fares between JFK-Manhattan-JFK are regulated. There is normally a large number of drivers at JFK and few taxis. As @Quickstatus mentioned most of the drivers are independent who are signed up with dial 7, Uber, Blacklane etc. I only use dial 7 as the pricing seems to be better if travelling Manhattan to/ from LGA or EWR which are not regulated.

JFK->Manhattan in 5 mins! https://www.blade.com/airport

They claim the fare of $195 is cheaper than app-based SUVs during rush hour!
I have done this and as a solo traveler HLO it’s absolutely amazing.

I’m doing the reverse in a couple of weeks.
It’s even cheaper if you get a referral code for your first trip.

I prefer to fly into LGA where possible, so much easier to get into Manhattan and the new terminal is fantastic.

My last visit to JFK I tried the public transport option for the first time (usually do uber or shuttle). Never again! The queue of people trying to buy tickets at Jamaica was about 100 deep.

Rarely any queue at Howards Beach which is the air train station I catch train from into the LES, Jamiaca is a clunkier transit (only made that mistake once, when I was staying in midtown).

Having the rare experience of arriving/departing at midday last year, I took a cab (fixed price) and was at LES hotel in under 20 mins.

I have an evening arrival this year so will play it by ear, Uber rarely cheaper form JFK given the fixed taxi pricing. With a medium case, a travel pack and a carry-on case - no issue with cab from a luggage POV.

Did the shuttle from JFK once about 15 years ago, never again, takes forever as you loop around the city all to save about $10 not worth it.

I usually (gusting always) stay in Midtown, and that route (from Howards Beach) is one hour on the subway in addition to the AirTrain. No thanks!

Midtown to LGA is usually pretty quick and cheap(ish) in an Uber.
