Background:
PER-SYD-CHC (was originally 2 hour transit in SYD, but I now have to do a day's work on in SYD on the way through, so will be overnighting it in SYD).

Question:
Ok... picking up a car rental in SYD once I fly in from PER around midday July 17.

My flight from SYD-CHC is 8am July 18.

So..... do I drop off the rental at the domestic terminal, and still get my free transfer on the bus to T1, or do I need to taxi it? Or am I able to just drop off at T1?

I'm using Hertz.

I can't see any reasons why you couldn't drop it off at T1 (unlikely they'd charge the relocation fee).

However... probably best to call and ask.

Whether you pick up / drop off at International or Domestic is irrelevent, it is still the same Hertz location SYD50

I did this a couple of years ago, but in reverse. Flew MEL-SYD on an international flight with the return SYD-MEL on a domestic flight. Rang Hertz to book a rental car from int'l terminal and told them would be dropping off at the domestic terminal. Hertz told me this would not be a problem and there would be no additional charge.

Still wouldn't hurt to ring them and confirm.

I did this a couple of years ago; Dom Pick up, Intl drop off with Thrifty. Not a problem ...
