Car Hire Canberra and New Zealand

Helllo all,

Its been ages since I last hired a car so am not aware of latest deals etc. We will be travelling to Canberra and New Zealand so pls let me know if there are any great deals.

I have an ANZ platinum Card - not sure if that gets me any extra points ???

Ring LDI car rental in Canberra first, cheap small car , all in no bull****.
Avis seems the next most likely.
In Canberra, everything is more expensive, so ring ahead.

Rent a Bomb refuses to rent a car at advertised rates, unless you buy their own insurance (note tied insurance is against the law) - in CBR and Sth Oakleigh, Melbourne at least the times I asked.
