I am planning a DONE 4 ex NRT on AA paperand trying to maximise SCs and to this end trying to use a QF code share on JFK-SFO....AA cant see the code share and QF can but only on their paper...Does anyone know how to book a QF code share on AA?

The paper may be the least of your problems.

You can only book a QF codeshare where there is an unbroken connection of QF codes to or from an international flight. So in practise, this means you can book QF codeshares following a QF arrival from AIS, or connecting to a US departure on QF to AUS. Anything else, and it is not bookable.

In your case, the JFK-SFO would need to be followed by SFO-xx_xx_-a QF international, all on QF codes (assuming that your ex NRT DONE4 travelled westwards, and you have arrived US East coast and then using you transcontinental before heading further westward to AUS).

In fact that is exactly what I am trying to do !!!!....Have JFK-SFO-MEL-BNE-MEL-NRT all on QF and yet when i talk to AA at the RTW desk in Dallas they cant see QF 3078 which is the code share flight JFK-SFO !!

May well be that only QF can sell that codeshare (i.e. need to ticket on 081). Maybe try a TA and see what they can do. (and I don't mean Fright Centre - I mean someone competent in OW RTW and the like - there are few on here).

Calling @madrooster ....

That’s what I’ve discovered....thanks equus appreciate your input

What you are doing is fine and can be ticketed on AA ticket stock as long as the transatlantic is on AA. But I have to ask, why AA ticket stock? What's so special about AA ticket stock?

the AA RTW desk is so easy with very knowledgeable agents who make changes quickly and efficiently plus their surcharges are lower

While the RTW desk is normally very responsive, what they are likely not saying is that it is AA policy to only use AA codes on AA metal flights.
After the ticket is issued, call QF after the first flight and ask if they will "take over" the ticket so that you can access the code share.
Maybe/ Maybe not.

I suspect that ticketing a RTW through QF would likely not permit an AA code on a QF metal flight.
Alternative would be a TA who would ticket through QR or other "neutral" OW carrier.

Happy wandering
Fred

When I phoned QF that was exactly their response so i might just try getting QF to take over the ticket but I suspect that by the time I do this there will be no D availabilty on the code share
