I just called Etihad Guest to try to redeem some of my miles for a one-way flight on Asiana. There was availability, which the agent confirmed, but they couldn't then provide a quote of the miles or taxes.
The agent then put me on hold for a while, and eventually informed me that it's not possible to book one-way award tickets on Asiana; only round-trip.
I cannot see this limitation listed anywhere on the Etihad website. I pointed this out, and the agent told me that the T&C under Asiana that says "In case of refund for a one-way flight within a return journey, miles are non-refundable, only unused taxes are eligible for refund" is an indication that one-way awards are not possible. Just bizarre.
