It's not really $600 for 10 mins work it's what you agreed to in the T & C. You'll find the same issue with all airlines when you book on a discount ticket.

I personally believe they let you off very lightly here.

No its a rip off, what about when the airlines web site dosnt work and dose not confirm the booking and people pay twice, or the T&C dont display. airlines get away with way to much

The same applies to any online transaction and even those offline. If you are willing to use the service you need to be aware of the risks involved. What about the 99.999% of the time that the service works? The only time I've ever paid twice was at Coles when the bank system was playing up and never for an online transaction. When I complained to the bank I got my money back which is the same for any unauthorized transaction.

Haven't you ever made a mistake?

The T & C are available and if you don't see them or are worried by them don't purchase the ticket :!:

I know its the T/C, I just meant they got a tidy $600 from me; a joke. First time reading the T/C, I thought the penalty would be $300. (ie. changing the name/date simultaneously on your booking would constitute a single change, not two changes).

Let me off lightly, how so? Given that its the T/C, it would be considered fair (but not reasonable in the eyes of some).

It's not the airlines alone. It's big business in general.

I guess I've learnt to accept these things after working for a huge multinational for so long.
