I booked a Qantas Holiday package to Melbourne which included the hotel deal stay 3 nights pay for 2.
Cancelled o/a recent Covid outbreak, no problem they refunded the hotel content and gave me an air credit for the flights.
Tried to re-book today through Qantas Holidays ( Manage my booking would not let me do it on line but I could ring Qantas Holidays direct and not have to wait for hours in a queue), having first checked what a new identical booking would cost. It was an extra $95 and this must be the hotel as the same priced airfares were available.
Was told that an additional $82 payable for air fares ( even though I could see same price as before showing for a new booking), was told that was only for new bookings and that was not available for a "re booking", then the hotel was an extra $450 approx.
If I accepted the air fares and tried to book the hotel direct or through Booking. com I could not get the hotel deal so either way I lose out.
What a joke- tricky way to get bookings and then once you are on the hook, they get back some of the discounts first offered.
