Cancellation of Paris to Dubai flight

Have a booking on 29 December in J for Paris to Dubai for wife and I. Yesterday I received the email below from Emirates.

Went into Emirates website and tried booking on dates either side and the 09.55 flight is still available for those dates so don't know what the "operational requirements" are for 29 December. No great drama for us as staying in Dubai for 3 nights for NYE.

Was about to book accommodation so good I received notification now. My thoughts are given the time arrival rather than transferring to accommodation in town to have what is left of the night is to book an airport hotel. Expecting to pay around $500 a night for 30 December and 31 December and from I can see airport hotel would be around $200 to $250 for the night so the saving is worth it. Not a problem that check in would be later as would drop the bags off and start the sightseeing.

My question is would we still be able to use the chauffer service at around 10.00am on the morning of 30 December given our arrival is 00.15? There would be a delay of around 8 to 9 hours before we use the chauffer service after arrival.

Can't help but we will be in Dubai for NYE and prices for accom are high. We booked a few months ago so fixed but a room I booked at Ritz is now several '000's more. Cant wait to see the fireworks at Burj al Khalifa.

Pushka, you are more organised than me. Many choices of where to watch the fireworks. We have settled on watching the fireworks at the Marina but yet to book anything for the night or a hotel. Most likely will book the Pullman Jumeirah Lakes which is about a 10 to 15 minute walk. When I started looking at the Pullman a few weeks ago rates were about $350 a night on the Le Club rate for Accor but now gone up by about $125 a night.

Should not delay once I have sorted out the first night!

Had to be organised as both flights booked through points. So I pounced on them almost a year ago. I use booking.com on a fully cancellable booking months out and then refine as time gets closer. Not refining this time because of the increase in prices. The hotel we are staying at is way out - Ibn Battuta Gate in a club room but don't pay until we are there. Can cancel but wont. Consequently the Hotel is keeping in touch with me.

I don't see why not you wouldn't be eligible for the chauffeur service at 0015 on the 30th. Not your doing but due to changes from EK. Hopefully your MMB will be updated with new flight details and you can rebook the chauffeur service.

I will be on the same flight just couple of days later .. If we're lucky we may be able to catch glimpses of the fireworks as we're landing ...
