Emergency landing made at LAX after smoke reported in coughpit

An American Airlines flight was diverted to Los Angeles to make an emergency landing after the pilot reported smoke and the smell of fuel in the coughpit.
Carrying 180 passengers, the Boeing 747 Flight AA442 San Francisco–Miami landed safely in LAX at roughly 14:15 on Tuesday.
Firefighters responded to the emergency as the flight was carrying airplane parts, classified as hazardous as they may contain traces of jet fuel.
Passengers were off-loaded and a safety inspection performed. It is believe that excess fluid in the hydraulics were the cause of the incident.
All passengers were booked onto other services to Miami.

An American Airlines Boeing 757-200, registration N636AM performing flight AA442 from San Francisco,CA to Miami,FL (USA) with 180 passengers, declared emergency and diverted to Los Angeles,CA after the crew noticed smoke and smell of fuel in the coughpit.
