looking at buying a few points and pay airfares whilst the redemption rate is still at PE until 18th Jan, will I earn SC and points on the travel? I spent a little time looking and I must have had my blonde wig on cos I couldn't find the answer, might have been all the pleasures at the V lounge in Melb I had consumed before the flight.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Backstards. They need to start. Especially given the cost of some of the international ASA redemption rates.
Agreed. Some of the point redemptions are so outrageous I'd expect a Virgin Galactic flight! :O

By contrast their domestic J redemptions are very cheap.

Agreed, Domestic J flights are CURRENTLY good value, as are the points plus pay. But international ASA flights are more expensive than chartering a Gulfstream in most cases. Particularly SQ and EY ASA redemptions.

1.5m ASA one-way in business to London on Etihad. I'm pretty sure I was quoted over 4m one way on VS at one point. Best to stick to the award fares IMO :p

oh bugger! so there is one thing Qantas has over them, points and pay gets you them, oh well there is no such thing as a perfect FF program, is there? Virgin has really impressed me since I started trying to book more flights with them, they make a nice difference from Jet* where you feel you do get something for your Gold status so they have won my loyalty.

If Virgin did SC on reward seats, i'd funnel a lot of credit card points toward them and quite a few more flights.

I assume that VA sell the points to the credit card companies, so either way it's extra revenue for them.
