Guys, I'm travelling BNE-SYD-BKK on QF503 and QF23 with a 1hr 40m transit in SYD. My question is can I use the TRS counter at BNE to avoid the sometimes hellish queues at SYD, or is SYD considered my 'departure point' for the purposes of TRS? My TRS claim will be in my carry-on and I'll use the TRS App/QR code however I feel that I don't have a great deal of time to travel between T3 and T1 and complete TRS (and maybe grab a coffee in the lounge...). TIA.

How did you end up going with your TRS claim? Did you have enough time at the international terminal TRS desk in SYD to submit your claim?
As advised in the thread, my BNE-SYD sector departed from the Domestic terminal and theTRS is located in the International terminal.
However, I have used the TRS facility on subsequent trips and its been quite fast and efficient.

You didn't use TRS in Sydney?
If you download the TRS App and fill in everything in the app and generate the QR code the process takes less than a minute!
Once you get through any queue of course.

Once you get through any queue of course.

Which in itself is an adventure, if your flight departs mid-day.

Have had queues in SYD extending up to the table where DF items are handed over !!

And the sheer number of items being claimed baffled me :O I only had a rather mobile phone to claim which I going to gift to my sister living overseas ..
