Can I upgrade a booking with points ?

Long time lurker and first time poster. Hoping someone can help me with this upgrade question. Want to travel on QF1 on a flexible fare but only want to upgrade to business the first leg to Dubai. Wondering if my booking will allow this?

Yes it's no problems you will get the option in "manage my booking" (MMB) on the airlines website.
Let us know closer to the date of travel on this subforum so someone can check the loadings on your flight:

Need date of travel, port of embarkation and disembarkation, frequent flyer status if any, and see if you can get the booking class of your travel - it's an alphabet eg "Y" = highest price economy. You may need to ring up the airline to find out.

I haven't seen this option on any of my QF1 bookings.
The only option has been to request an upgrade SYD-LHR unless I've added a stopover or flight change at DXB.
Not sure if the call Centre can do it but the OP could try.

I think that depends on whether you've already booked. If you're already booked then I doubt that you can request a points upgrade for SYD-DXB. I've had an op-up on this sector, but you can never expect it.

If you haven't booked yet and want an award booking then you can see the mixed class fares in the QF website, by selecting the "Search Classic Flight Awards", and some of the flights will have a comment indicating it's a mixed class, though I don't know how they calculate the points for these.
