Camp Gallipoli

Meant to reply earlier. I think this camp gallipoli is an interesting concept. Personally I don't see camping out as a particular requirement to memory the day. I'm always moved by the dawn service itself. A quiet sober service that starts in the dark and finishes just after the sunrise.

Having been very lucky to get tickets for the service in turkey. I'm actually a bit worried about being "entertained" overnight. Hopefully, it allows contemplation.

But everyone has to do what they feel is best. Having people remember the sacrifice is becoming important. I hear some terrible things among current veterans. Someone from my former unit selling all his medals etc. to care for his child. I can only hope legacy or similar support organisation gain support.

Agree, not sure I see how sleeping out honours the dead and returned. But people should do what they want. Having said that I'm sitting in the MGM Las Vegas.

Me, WW1 isn't my interest and don't connect with it, we have the 70th of WW2 here as well which is my interest, but I'm not sleeping out.

Matt

Calamity in turkey as well. Women using the male toilets and creating a queue!!
