I am planning to fly from Japan to Adelaide on around the 20th of Feb. I am hoping to be able to fly with Jetstar because they are cheap as well as being relatively direct/quick. I have found a flight from KIX to Cairns that arrives at 5:00am with the ADL leg departing at 7:05am. Jetstar recommends at least 3 hours between connecting flights. Is allowing only 2 hours for transfer risky? I am happy to run through the airport:mrgreen:
If I am unable to make the connecting flight because of a late arrival, etc., will Jetstar help me get home, or will I be on my own and out of pocket for the missed connection?

Cheers

Two hours should be fine, note you will need to walk to the other terminal which is 10 mins or so, I would take out a plus pack on that second leg allowing you to change for fare difference only! that will give you some protection if a delay is evident before departure.

I don't know much about CNS, but if you don't make your connection for any reason, including late arrival, you will be stuck needing a new ticket.

Also if you plan on having checked bags, you will need to collect those before clearing customs and still be checked in 30 minutes before your ADL flight.

I probably wouldn't risk it.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll play it safe and find another way home.

I wouldn't hesitate to book via CNS. Immigration is quick and as both segments would be Jetstar you'll be looked after on connection in case of unexpected delay. The domestic terminal is a short walk. Go ahead, make the booking.

A very short walk, undercover. Though it wont help much if it is pouring torrential rain which is possible in Feb.
