Cabin crew: An insider tells all

...like the time I was sitting by a swimming pool in Cyprus at 5am, drinking martinis and watching our drunken flight captain flirting with a girl, and thinking, "He's got to fly a plane in less than four hours' time." Still, he was flying Airbus, which means they hardly have to do a thing – the computer almost lands it for them.

Um.... don't really know what to say to that?

Flew EK a couple years ago (In Economy), and was seated next to a very fat middle east man. Got up to go to the toilet, and when I returned he had put the armrest up. and taken half my seat. He would not shift, the poor cabin crew spoke to him in Arabic (I think??). But no good, full plane, no other seats. Boss FA spoke to him, and I gather from the tone of their little chat, it was shift or take the consequences. It caused hell for 30 minutes or so. I felt sorry for the cabin crew, he was big, loud, and ugly. The female FA's had no chance with him. Later another passenger told me as we were getting off the plane, he was told that he would be put on their black list, and would not be flying with them again.

What a charming fellow.

Thank Christ I fly F.
