Byron Bay break
Just a mini-TR with a local flavour to add to the mix. Apologies in advance for the mixed quality of the photos – I really don’t know why some photos work out whilst others don’t! The gentleman, MasterC and I spent 4 nights up in Byron Bay recently. Flying Y up and back to Coolongatta and a Hertz hire car, well enough said about those aspects. It was a relatively easy drive down south in just under an hour. We stayed at the Byron at Byron resort which is located about 3 km out of Byron Bay in Suffolk Park. We booked the base room – 1 bedroom with a kitchenette. There was a 4 seater dining table, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and cooktop. Next to the dining table was a lounge area with a couch (that also folded out into a bed) and a coffee table. The bedroom had a king size bed and sliding doors so that you could open up the room or separate if preferred. The bathroom was quite large with a separate bathtub and shower.
Whilst the room was quite nice, it wasn’t sound proofed very well so you could hear other guests coming and going quite easily. The bed was also not very comfortable, it was very saggy and almost felt like a futon. Overall, we were reasonably happy with it but probably wouldn’t return (more because of its location).
