Mrs ChrisMars is Gold, and I am WP. I usually try to do all the bookings as I have better access to the call center to manage the booking (so handy in covid time), plus better seat availability etc...
Now, I am getting low in points, and Mrs has already transferred me 600,000 this year which is the limit.

I am wondering if someone has a working strategy to use Mrs points, while using WP benefits (premium call center access). For example, can Qantas allow my wife to allow me to manage her account? Or if I call to ask for seat release, can the booking then be done under Mrs name with Mrs points? I am keen to see how members in similar situation manages related request.

For example, can Qantas allow my wife to allow me to manage her account?
You can be added to your wife's account as an authorised user, you need to call QF, they will speak with her and once set up you can pretty much manage her account on her behalf. I did this for my wife's account about 15 years back. The only thing that seems to have changed recently is if I want to cancel her booking over the phone QF has as to speak with her to confirm the cancellation. I found this to be odd as the bookings were made with my points.
The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Mrs. Ansett is WP and I am P1 and I make all the bookings myself and will often use her points. As has been said before if you are on the booking then there should never be a problem chasing or changing using your WP access.

Have booked flights directly from Mrs. Ansett account and have even been able to get changes made using the VIP team, even when I am not part of the booking. They always want to confirm with her any changes and if we use her points to book for us both that she is aware and acknowledges this.

I have a similar situation as the OP, so thought I would tack it on this thread.

We are looking at getting 3xJ OWA for December this year, so wanting to book shortly. I have the ~1m QFF points in my account, and my wife is about to complete the fast track to Gold so obviously want to book through her account for the earlier flight availability, etc. Only found out about the 600k yearly cap today when preparing to transfer all of my points across.

Tried calling Qantas today (would guess it was the Philippines call centre) to see if there was any work around, but they weren't very helpful at all and just seemed to be reading the standard script. Asked about adding an authorised user as suggested above, but they still seemed to think it wasn't going to work to be able to use my points on my wife's account.

Is the best bet to just wait until we want to book, call up (together), and request them to debit the points from my account then?

Any other possible solutions? Looks like we may be able to borrow about 250k points from family members if that helps.

Your wife with Gold status will only get earlier access to QF flights for your booking. The other OW carriers seat availability can be booked by anyone from the day they get released. I have tested this using my daughters account (bronze) on any given day that any of the OW carriers release seats be it JL, CX, BA, AA, etc. the availability she can see is exactly the same as mine (P1). QF is different I can see seats that she cannot. FWIW if you are looking for x3 in J QF may not be your best option and depending on your plans I would be looking at other carriers who tend to release more seating.

Thanks Matt, that is good to know re. early access for QF seats only. I thought it meant all seats, as per the below on PointHacks from here.
If you want to fly with a partner airline, the calendar that dictates this is that of the frequent flyer program you want to use your points with, not the airline with whom you want to fly.
We are looking at going to the US mostly so am looking at other airlines, but if something more direct on QF popped up it would be good to have first access to it.
