BYO shampoo minis and what do hotels refill their dispensers with?

I have noticed what’s on the housekeeping trolleys in many hotels and where applicable, they have been the branded product. Mostly the large dispensers have been locked so that the contents cannot be interfered with. Some hotels unlock the contraption and refill, others replace with a new full bottle. (A couple of times I have rung housekeeping to come and refill an empty bottle, too. Don’t just grumble to yourself!) I carry a small body lotion for use in the cheaper hotels that don’t supply that product. I wouldn’t use refillable bottles that aren’t secured, but have not come across any as yet.

I prefer pump packs to those stupid little L’Occitane bottles though. It is practically impossible to get any product out!

We have to take soap and shampoos as the wife has a lavender allergy and over the years we have found plenty of hotels have products containing lavender.
We mainly stay at the “better” Accor brands and they have some really good branded soaps so I grab those 🤣

Just invest in some decent travel sized go tubes (or similar) and take your preferred products from home, then you know exactly what you are getting and no waste, as you can top up every trip.

So long as there is something in the bloody things....I dont care about the brand....the number of times I am in the shower all wet and go to pump out some soap and nothing....

Or its in such a stupid place it all runs off your hand before you can get to put it on yourself.

And those "Water saving" showers that are like standing in fog....you need to stay there twice as long to get wet! How does that save anything?

Last cough is no exhaust fan to suck out the steam, you open the door and then the dam fire alarm goes off!
