Hi,

This has probably been posted but im flying to YMML tomorrow and I rang Qantas and asked if I could upgrade to business and they said that there were no seats available. Does Qantas open up more seats to Frequent flyers to upgrade too?

Thanks

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I haven't heard of QF opening up more UG spots for FFers - but you can ask at the Qantas CLub potentially to do an On Departure Upgrade - that's if you have QP access - or know someone who can get you in.

Is it a domestic or international flight?

For international flights you must waitlist for upgrades and the cut-off for waitlisting is 24 hours before departure.

For domestic flights, upgrades can be confirmed in advance if there are award seats available. However, if you have Qantas Club lounge access then you can request an On-Departure Upgrade from the lounge service desk after you have been checked-in for the flight. On-Departure Upgrades do not come from award seat inventory, so can still be available even if there are no awards seats available.
