Hi I had booked a number of Business class rewards flights prior to the change in points required, I ave over the last few days called a few times and changed these to later dates with no hassles, I changed one this morning again no issues and called this afternoon to change my last one and all of a sudden was told that the points required had changed since when I booked and I would need to pay the points difference, I explained that I had changed a number of others with no such issue, after some time was advised they would need to call me back which they did and advised in this intance they would do the change free of charge.

So I am wondering what is correct and what ecperienced others have had in this situation? as I will need to changes of these again.

Thanks in advance.

I changed a flight last week that was booked under the old points system, no hassle to change.

Actually in the MEL DJ lounge at the moment,,,must get me some pancakes!

I always endeavour to keep a .pdf of the fare rules when booking.

I would guess your CSA was not familiar with business awards which indeed are flexible (depending on availability of the booking class [H]) and refundable[SUP]1[/SUP].

No change fee is applicable. Any difference in price between the original and new fare must be paid.

Note:

A refund or a credit for the balance will be issued. Credits must be used within 12 months of the date that original flight was purchased.

Guests who check in, but do not fly, will not be eligible for a refund or credit.

Note:

Thanks for the reply, however from the link above it does state you can change dates/flights without a change fee but any difference in fare is payable. So from this I guess they could charge the difference between the points used on the original booking under the old points and the new booking under current points. Can anyone advise for sure what is correct?

Booked J a few months ago when they were on sale.Went to change the date after the sale finished and would need to cough up the extra to match the current price.

So how much have points levels changed?

Posted on a wing and a prayer ...

Depends who you speak to.....

I am making a ton of changes to flights booked under the old rules

You just need to push nicely and they will move your dates but not origin or destination

Just ring back is my advice and/or ask for a supervisor
