SQ has released BZ Class specials ex OZ.
Essentially 2 flying together get 20% off, 3 get 30, 4 get 40, 5 or more 50.
Nice to see SQ discounting their premium product finally, although not as good as QF's 2 for 1 which has already run twice this year.

I can't put the link to the website where I saw this, being a newby-ish, but PM me for the web address.

It was advertised in the Wentworth Courier.

Anyone gonna take up the offer? :D

Methinks SQ is getting pretty desperate.

It was looking odd in one of QF009's TRs last year he flew SQ F and in each time nary a pax in the cabin bar himself. I'm not sure that's something to attest to SQ's premium cabin price, or quality.

In any case, sales don't work in my favour - if it was December I might be a bit interested....

I've have 4 SQ sectors this week, BNE-SIN-SGN-SIN-SGN, and in each of them the J cabin was between 25% and 60% full.

I was very surprised last night on SQ255 that the J cabin had only had about 10 people in it, I had expected brand new plane + Easter holiday to = a busy flight. How wrong can you be!

I think the issue is that just from my own experiences is that the SQ best in the world service etc has declined. They are not what they used to be and they treat all there frequest flyers with contempt, they revamped there PPS club to exclude all but the most frequent premium cabin flyers and devalued the program, now they even charge all people for exit rows in whY !
Also SQ have no idea at all how to choose a wine ! they should be shot for the poor quality and poorly matched to food offerings. (QF leads here in most cases)
Also there fares ex-SIN are way too high for the most part.

I have to say i am much prefering CX premium cabins even on the old planes ! but that service did come at a cost, a big loss this year so far for CX :(

QF is getting desperate too with 2 for 1 Bz fares twice in the last 2 months. ;)

SQ's woes, especially in the premium classes, have been widely reported.

Do you think (maybe) holiday travellers tend to travel in Y ? What was Y like occupancy-wise?

I have only had great experiences in J and even Y.
Downgrade of PPS benefits was deplorable , but cabin service still excellent, and streets ahead of many other full service airlines.
Wine is not an issue for me, but I appreciate that it is for some.
(Not sure that they should be shot though, a bit extreme...)
Charging for exit row seats was a bold move. In a way it's more equitable, in that you can at least secure such a seat if you desire. Some airlines save the exit row seats for only the most ...ah... frequent of flyers.

Chac'un a son gout.

Well exit rows and charges are one thing... but USD $50 or SGD $76 per sector is not really very cheap, thats USD $200 for a kangaroor route fare and that makes the airfare about $300 AUD more expensive... a bit steep maybe ?

And why should you not reward your frequest flyers, they often pay extra to take there favorite airline effectivly paying for those exit rows andway but now its extra on top.

Well maybe i won't shoot them for the poor wine ;) but the its pretty bad.

Perhaps SQ is haemorraging money from Tiger?

I doubt it ! well maybe a bit on SIN-KUL and Silkair maybe a bit to a few other destinations but not they likley. Tiger operate from the LCC terminal so i don;t see the traffic much, only all the cancelled flights on the monitors.

3K on the other hand ;) they operate from T1 and get my attention if they fly to the places i want to go.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
