Business class deals to Europe

How time sensitive is your travel?

There are often good value J class fares on Philippine Airlines to Manila and then (after an overnight or more) Oman Air to cities such as Milan.

Look up the ITA Matrix site and search. extensively. PR uses good Airbus A333s from MEL or SYD with a 1-2-1 layout and Oman Air from Manila to Muscat and on to Milan uses Boeing 787-900s. Even though Oman Air (code WY) is 2-2-2 in business class, every seat has direct aisle access thanks to the Apex Suites configuration. Some WY routes do not have the B787, only the B737, so that's why I mention Milan.

From BNE and PER to/from MNL, PR uses single aisle aircraft that have 12 lie flat J class seats. This is not something QFi has installed on any single aisle plane, again showing how far behind the pack QFi is.

Why pay far more to travel on a second class carrier such as QF with its reputation for variable, sometimes poor, service on board and varying punctuality? QF also only flies to London, Paris and Rome, but Milan as a second tier city is just as attractive.

Think of buying Eurailpasses to travel on the terrific European rail networks. If you buy a Global Eurialpass, it's also valid for travel in the UK. Free food and drink on the UK's four main line operators. See the eurail.com site along with seat61.com for extensive booking tips and itinerary planning. You can buy either mobile-friendly or paper Eurailpasses: the latter are mailed to your address in Australia.

Hi. I’m new to the forum. My family and I are looking to travel to Europe next year around Sep/Oct. any tips on getting business class deals preferably SQ or EK or QF?
Thanks
We on AFF do not have a secret source of good business deals.
From where in AU to where in EU? In EU trains will get you to may places if landing at another airport How many passengers?
A common suggestion is get to Asia on a separate ticket by cash or points/miles/avios and then buy a business class ticket Asia-EU.
The 2nd tier airlines, Chinese, Vietnam Airlines and the like, can have better pricing from AU. But schedules - transits can be poor.

AFF articles from 2025
Carriers like Vietnam Airlines, China Airlines, SriLankan Airlines, Asiana or Oman Air might not necessarily be your first choice. But they all offer fully lie-flat beds in Business Class and their pricing to Europe can be highly competitive.

Many airlines charge well over $8,000 for Business Class tickets from Australia to Europe. But Asiana, Vietnam Airlines, Air India and SriLankan Airlines Business fares to Europe are often closer to $5,500 return. Chinese airlines sometimes offer Business Class fares for even less

Edit
Coincidence?

G'day Diane,
There are already quite a few threads on this site on good business class deals. Have a go with the search function (magnifying glass at the top right) even just using the terms “business class” “flights” or “good deals”. Once you’ve found some threads have a read through and ask some more specific questions in those threads. (specific to your situation) and I’m sure you’ll get a better response than the very generic info you’ve posted here.

Essentially, help us to help you. 👍

Cheapest… fly economy to Jakarta (Qantas or Garuda), then pick up emirates, Qatar or Etihad from there to Europe. Fares from Jakarta (or Manila) are in the region of AUD3000 return, business class.

Overnight in Jakarta to ensure you have plenty of time to make your connection the next day, as these are separate tickets.
