Broken IFE reports & compensation

Two of my last four Qantas International J flights have had IFE issues so I'm wondering how widespread these problems are, and thought it would be worth sharing experiences & compensation offered. Apologies if this thread already exists, I looked but couldn't find.

Date: 27JUN22
Flight number: QF148
Route: AKL-SYD
Aircraft reg if known: VH-EBA (domestic config A330)
Issue: J IFE screens non-functional for whole cabin. Screens turn on but show garbled text. Pax not advised til after boarding (despite an FA mentioning the previous SYD-AKL flight had the same issue) so no chance to cache content via the airport/lounge wifi. Advised to download Qantas Streaming app instead.

Friends in Y reporting half the cabin has iPad seatback IFE, the other half doesn't have them.

Will request compensation tomorrow and report back.

Took a couple of calls to get some action, compensation offered was 7k points, accepted.

In my Customer Care form submission I requested 10k points, in line with compensation given for faulty IFE on SYD-SIN J in April and faulty IFE on SYD-HKG F in 2019.
 
Shouldn't that compensation be automatic. Other airlines do in premium cabins.
I have had BA offer 20000 avios for non functioning IFE immediately. points in account on landing in SIN.
And AA 10000 miles in J JFK -LHR. Again points in account on landing.
 
This is a thing? I did LAX-MEL (in Business) back in May and we had no IFE. Luckily l had jam packed my laptop with movies before my trip. I am pretty sure half the cabin were looking over my shoulders for hours, lol.

Not Qantas, but my IFE wasn't working on an Air Canada domestic flight a couple of weeks ago. I complained and a couple of days later was given a voucher for 30% off another Air Canada flight to use any time in the next 3 years.
 
I contacted customer care about the IFE not working on my 717 flight last week. Got a canned reply the next day with an apology but no offer of compensation.

A few years ago, when the same thing happened, Qantas gave me 5,000 points for the inconvenience.
 
6 Weeks ago on QF24 in J, IFE was stuck on the operating system background page for most of the flight. Wrote in a couple of weeks later, 3000 points arrived today. Suggested 10k when I wrote in.
