Brisbane/Gold Coast to Oman Muscat

I need to get from Brisbane or the Gold Coast to Muscat. As a destination Muscat appears to be expensive to fly to. Maybe we go to Dubai and make our way to Muscat. My window is not to leave before June 22 and not to arrive after 10th July. 2 adult pax. looking for the most economical route and airline. Suggestions would be appreciated. Cheers

Oman Air have some really great 'specials' from time to time, Jakarta or Kuala Lumpur to Muscat. You could get a cheap connecting flight to CGK or KUL.

On the one ticket ex Australia I'd also look at Air India via New Delhi and Sri Lankan via Colombo.

If you do break up the trip, consider a fifth freedom flight between the Emirates and Muscat. I believe Swiss Air fly Dubai - Muscat and that is usually a very affordable flight.
