Bringing a Friend on Points?

hey all

Is it possible to get a business partner a ticket on points? I have to fly to san fran and my business partner doesnt have enough points...could I say he's my brother in law or something like that? do they check really?

Oh I'm happy telling white lies to qantas...its whether they check it at all that I'm worried about...but then again...how would they check that my business partner is a brother-in-law or de-facto etc???

in my experience they have never checked when I have done it. (only done it once though..) It is a very hard one to police as how do you prove you are a cousin or brother in law etc etc.
I jut told my good friend if they ask you are my sister in law but they never asked. I would not normally deceive QF but it was an emergency situation to help my good friend out.

Umm you signed an agreement with QF that these were the terms and conditions you would agree to and now that they are no convenient you want to break them? Do you apply that to all your contracts?

mmm yes I should go by the book because qantas hasn't been stuffing around its loyal members at all lately. They arent selling a large chunk of their shrinking capacity to credit cards etc, and they arent auctioning off the tiny remainder for exorbitant points burns. And they are not refusing to purchase more aircraft to maintain a demand growth and capacity balance that would actually leave room for points based flights.

Its ok though...they do have a new shopping mall.

Luckily they are one of only a few airlines throughout the world that lets you initially pay for this privilege of membership.

There have been reports of US-based members making award bookings through the Qantas USA office being asked to fax copies of marriage certificates, birth certificates etc as proof of the relationship.

For the record I think QF have done some horrid things in relation their frequent flyers - though I think most changes were communicated in line with the T&C of the program (which admittedly favour QF).

And they are not refusing to purchase more aircraft to maintain a demand growth and capacity balance that would actually leave room for points based flights.

This is however wrong given that QF have many many aircraft on order.
