Hi, as discussed in a previous thread, I am flying to MEL/Seoul on Tuesday morning on CX. Departure is 07.35, so I will be partaking of breakfast in one of the lounges. I am WP, so have access to either the QF F or J or CX F or J lounge (do they have an F in MEL?) My question is, which lounge to which I have access has the best breakfast? Of course, there will be breakfast on the a/c, so I don't need a heap, so pleasant and relaxing surroundings may be more relevant.
Any thoughts appreciated :) .

QF F.

CX lounge at MEL is fairly basic, and F consists of roped off seats within the same larger lounge.

Thanks, the QF F lounge is quite adequate, although I hope the offerings for breakfast are an improvement on those in the mid afternoon. If not, I am sure the on board CX J breakfast will be fine.

Breakfast in the domestic QP's and international J QP's is probably the best time of day for food selection and availability. I assume the F lounge can only be better. Don't forget to take some vegemite with you. ;)

Brekkie is the time I'm normally there and its not bad.
I'll second this. Brekkie is best at all Qantas Clubs, especially domestic (where bar is closed). International F lounge is quite good breakfast, and you can have a Champagne breakfast it you want.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

At that time of the morning I feel like I should mix the champagne with OJ, to at least have some semblance of responsibility. However, it would be almost criminal to mix the good stuff in the F lounge with OJ, so I'll just have to drink it straight ;) .

Mixing Champange with OJ-What hardship!!

If I'm breakfasting in the QC then I'm usually on my way to work at some indeterminate time, often between "oh my god it's early" and "I'm too old for this"

Unfortunatly I usually fly domestic (from PER) at that hour so it's quite busy with others getting to site to start their swings.

Whats the BNE Int lounge like?
The F lounge is much the same as the others - just smaller. Food selection is generally low in quantity, but its quickly refilled when consumed. Always a selection of fresh cut fruit, plus cereals and bakery selections.

Be aware that the bathroom facilities are limited (in number, not quality) so if you may need to wait a while as people make use before boarding their flight. Planning and timing is the key :!:.

Quiter and much more civilised than the BNE J Lounge.

Thank you for the generous invite Lindsay. :D

I'll be trying BNE F for the first time in a few weeks. NM, do you mean food is much the same as other F, or other QP?
I'm interested to see how many people will be in there - given they will all be WP as there's no "real" first!

BNE F.

Interesting lounge. May be closed early in the morning due to "low occupancy", "cleaning" or some other feeble excuse.

To be honest, you might as well go to the J lounge in BNE. The F lounge is only marginally better.

Agree there isnt as big a difference between J and F lounges at BNE as there is at MEL. I've never encountered the F lounge being closed before (admittedly not many visits) - should I be worried about my next early morning visit?

i only go into the J longe in BNE. its a bit more spacious and has a better view i reckon.

I was comparing with other F lounges. There is never a lot of food out, but there is generally an appropriate variety for the time of the day and it is replenished quickly when used.

On most of my visits there have been between 8 and 20 people in this lounge.
