Gday,

I have a monthly bill to pay. It sounds like the institution accept credit card payment as it says on the invoice:
"Credit card Payment: Use BPAY"

I am concerned however that this will be treated as cash advance. I don't seem to have a way to know for sure.
Any thoughts on how to test that? What if I make sure my balance stays at zero, would I still be liable to pay the hefty 20% fee cash advance for the duration of the statement?

Generally, Bpay via CC does not get treated as a cash advance.

Sometimes as CC payment fee may be assessed but that has to be disclosed.

Maybe try a small part payment as a tester.

Other than that, can you provide more detail?

Thanks I guess I could pay 1$ and see. Will I be able to easily and immediatly see if it is treated as cash advance?
More details, about 400 monthly, biller is colliers international, hoping to get the qff points.

If ANZ is going to treat as a cash advance, you will be warned and offered to continue or cancel.
Perfect, Ill try that tomorrow. Thanks!

I should clarify that this was on the website, not app (in case it’s different)

Ah, looks like this one is cash advance. I also sent a message to anz, and they confirm this biller code will attract cash advance fees.
