My son was due to spend 6 months overseas and bought Travel Insurance from Travel Insurance Direct. His trip was significantly shortened and on his return he contacted TID and they, very kindly, refunded the difference between the initial policy cost and what it would have cost for just his time away. Well done TID! And such good communicators. And such nice people to talk to.:D

Always nice to see TID getting compliments, as all my travel insurance needs go through them. Just bought my first annual policy last week :)

Gives me some faith that if i ever need to make a claim they will acutally try to help, rather than stonewall.

Thanks for posting. Always good to hear positive experiences as against negative. I hope never to have to claim on TI, but have been using TID for a year or two now, and their communications (pre-trip checklist, post-trip 'hope it was good' etc.) have impressed me.

The proof of the pudding is when one has to claim, and I've also heard a good story or two re TID in this instance too.

I've used TID a couple of times and have no issues. the only thing I discovered last time is that they dont cover for financial insolvency, eg if your airline or a tour company etc goes belly up. It's not a big issue but it does make me think to check other providers out
