Considering going on a family holiday to the Philippines and spending some time on Boracay. Seeking advise regarding Boracay in particular is the ocean clean, where to stay and the best way to get to the island from Manila. Any suggestions of other places to visit.

Go online to one of the following:

Cebu Pacific
Air Phils Express
Zest Air
Philippines Airlines.

try and book a flight from Manila to Boracay through Caticlan Airport. If you book via Kalibo you will hve a two hour bus ride to the Caticlan port before boarding a boat to Boracay.

Book your hotel in advance. The higher price/star hotels are around Boat Station 1 with some budget but very comfortable hotels around Boat Station 3. I stayed at Bamboo Beach Resort which has good rooms, good food and friendly staff. It is also only fifteen metres from front of resort to beach.

The ocean is very clean. Visibility around the island is forty to fifty feet.

Some sites for advice are as follows:
travel.ph
Bambooybeach boracay
Also search for My Boracay Guide

You will have a full range of water activities from sailing, scuba, kitesailing, parasailing etc.

I stayed with family for a week as there is not much else to do but realax and enjoy the water.

Great advice there. I stayed at Nami about 5 years ago and it was solid though expensive. I tried to provide a link but it seems that either the website or the resort is redundant. Shame if it's the latter. I have fond memories of their glass elevators.

Members with under 10 posts cannot post links. But I have found the website I think you meant. It does appear to be down, but might have been up as little as 10 days ago, so perhaps a server issue? They do appear to have a second website that is up though.

http://www.namiboracay.com/ (down)
Nami Resort Boracay Philippines (up)

Nami Resort (Boracay, Philippines) - Hotel Reviews - TripAdvisor

Nami Boracay Packages - Promo
Nami Boracay Private Villas
Nami Boracay Private Villas

The 3 latter links seem to be independent websites that no doubt list other resorts too.

While TripAdvisor is useful to some as long as they don’t get sued.
