Booking reference no longer showing up?

I had a cancelled return leg on a previous booking, which I exchanged for a travel credit.
After a nightmare period of dealing with the Qantas call centre, and compromising my itinerary, I used it to book a new return flight via same destinations and I thought that I finally had everything sorted.

Flying EK metal via Qantas booking over Christmas.

My QF booking reference number was reactivated, I was able to choose my seats on Emirates website, and it was showing as an upcoming trip in the Qantas app.

I received e ticket itinerary with ticket number. I didn't check if it was the same as my old ticket number, I just assumed it was a new number and that it had all been ticketed OK.

Now I have an issue - when I log in to Qantas the booking reference number is not working, there are no upcoming trips displayed in my Qantas app or Web account, and I can't log in to Emirates - either via the original Qantas reference number or by the new reference number that Emirates provided.

Should I be worried?
Or does that sound like a temporary glitch?

Look it up on Check My Trip - that is the source of truth.

Do I have a problem 😭
Flight was supposed to be in Dec.

Both Qantas and Emirates emailed with etickets!!

So has Qantas cancelled my ticket ?
Other than a random stuffup due to the complexity of the voucher, the only other reason that I can think of for this is that I retrospectively requested a flight offset - is there any way that an offset request could have somehow cancelled the booking??

When I call, I get Manila and they say they cant understand the issue.
They can see my new eticket numbers still showing up.

He said he has referred it to their "Internal Booking team" which is a non customer-facing, back office team" who will respond in writing or call within 24-48 hours.

Should I assume that nobody will call me back?
Who is this 'internal booking team' and where do they work from?
Who would I need to speak to, and how would I get in contact with them, in order to fix it?

There are still seats available to book - its nothing fancy, just Y/R/H class... but I have a bad feeling that if I just trust Qantas then I will rock up on the day and find that I have no seat.

Ok - so credit where credit is due -
I didn't trust the original promise that I would be emailed withing 24-48 hours... so I kept calling.
I politely hung up the first time when it went to Manila, and then the second time I got someone from Cape Town called Arun? Aaron?

Anyway Arun from Cape Town was efficient, polite, confident and fixed the problem relatively quickly. He couldn't explain or understand why the booking had dropped off, but he clearly saw that it needed to be re-ticketed, which he did so promptly, with no fuss. Tickets came through very quickly.

I am sure that it was due to the request for a retrospective carbon offset.
As soon as the booking was re-ticketed, the booking re-appeared in my app and the points for the offset were magically deducted instantly.

Now the only problem I have is that I can't select seats on Emirates and I get the error "sorry, we can`t price this seat at the moment. Please try again later." I'll have a coffee, then call Emirates later and politely ask them for their help to restore my previous seat bookings.

Thank you Mr H - couldn't have done it without your advice.

Glad if I helped but I think you were already coming to the same conclusions. Learning points for others who read this thread:

1. Check My Trip is the real time source of truth. If it doesn’t show a flight and ticket number then you don’t have a ticketed flight.

2. Manage My Booking on the Qantas site and emails from Qantas are not reliable as they just suck in details from the last time a booking did have a flight or a ticket number.

3. The Cape Town call centre is much better than the Fiji one. The politeness of the Fijian agents aligns with their unwillingness to ever doubt the answers given by the computer. The Cape Town agents are more willing to think independently and you can engage with them in a more open way.

Hey HSB44 -- did you end up getting your "Sorry, we can`t price this seat at the moment. Please try again later" issue sorted by Emirates?

I am travelling on EK metal with QF flight numbers and can't select my seats via the Emirates website after a flight change earlier earlier in the year.

Edit: also this thread is the only result in all of Google for the string "Sorry, we can`t price this seat at the moment. Please try again later."
