Thanks. I thought I was logged in to AsiaMiles. Just signed up for account

The taxes SYD-BKK are high. Not quite as high as KrisFlyer but the SQ option is less miles and A380 instead of QF A330.

Via HKG prices at 60,000 miles for me.

i might have got the via HKG price wrong... I'm not at home to check it... I probably just 'thought' it said 45k.

Or even just the PER-HKG flight?

based on distance as per the award chart - 25K from PER only, or 40k in you start in ADL: https://www.asiamiles.com/am/en/redeem/charts

Thanks. Qantas also has that flight for 35,000 QFF points.

It is amazing what you can find once you start searching individual sectors. Why oh why doesn't the award booking engine return SYD-PER-HKG on 18 September when it is clearly available.

Is it a valid routing?

For an award? It is on Qantas and I assume it should be valid on Asia Miles too.

i don't know, but it could be a reason why it doesn't show. different airlines have different rules, so what QF allows CX may not (but I'm not across Asia Miles' routing rules)

Some months ago I made my first redemption booking for CX HKG SYD in PE and now want to change to the next day departure - the seats are available - is this easy to do online or best to call CX? Would seem cost is same USD $25 either channel. Advice appreciated, don't want to stuff it up!

If wanting to book a return flight, how do people go about it?
E.g if I would like to book SYD-HKG-LHR rtn, do I book outbound online then wait for availability for the return, or should I do both legs via callcentre?
Thanks
(I may want to add on a GLA sector so may end up going via callcentre anyway)
