I'm currently QF Gold but touch and go whether I will make it to retain the status into my next membership year. If I book an international flight (to the UK) now while I still have Gold - but for a date beyond my membership anniversary - I assume the e-ticket will be issued with Gold status showing? Will that mean I get Gold privileges for the trip even if my status has dropped?

I would have thought not, but I seem to recall a very similar situation a couple of years ago when I booked a flight to the US while Gold, but had dropped to Silver by the time I flew. However all boarding passes etc still said Gold.

Unless you get comped status (if you don't make it outright), you will not have the benefits of gold if the trip is after the date you lose that status.

The previous trip you may have been on the lucky end of a software glitch possibly.

OK thanks. As I said I thought that would be the case but I've checked back and I definitely got lucky last time!

I have heard of an AFFer who booked as a WP, but dropped before travel. All WP benefits were still conferred. So you may be lucky. Just don't play with the booking after you drop from SG or else it may be updated.
