A quick question for the wise heads out there. What is the current situation regarding making and paying for bookings using the AA USA Website? Will that website readily accept an Australian credit card?

On a dummy booking, I see that "Australia' appears in the drop down menu under "Billing Address" at the "Review & Pay" stage of booking. Does this mean that there is no problem with paying online using an Australian credit card on the AA USA Website and that the booking will progress smoothly? Are there any tricks or traps?

With thanks in advance...

(Okay, so my one quick question was made up of a few sub-questions. Apologies!)

I think you might be right. I just booked an award and it went through fine. Just remember to leave off the postcode when you go to pay! (it actually says all countries outside USA should not enter a post/zip code but it's easy to miss that).

If it doesn't process - put the booking on hold and look at ticketing options if you have to use a call centre. The AU centre charges AUD60 - but I think if you shop around it costs as little as GBP5 paying through the UK call centre.

You can pay just fine now days with an Australian credit/debit card :). Have done so myself without issue.
