Booking London flight process?

Hi all,
Looking at going Step 2014. Economy for 2 people.
Went to flight centre and have quote.
Now with that info go direct to the Singapore airlines page and book direct from there instead?
Any way to dodge credit card fees?
Book return trip?
Book accom flight centre quote, direct with the hotel place instead?
If they go flight centre quote then pay via XS CARD? Purchased XS CARD via credit card?

Don't do anything with FC if at all possible.
I doubt the SQ website will be the most competitive place either.
Have you tried the online sites Skyscanner, Hipmunk etc ?

It's family members that going and even though extensively travelled concerned if miss flight due to something happening getting another flight getting in touch with airline. I said use travel insurance or just contact airline and pay.... Claim with travel insurance once home?
Will itmatrix allow multi city
Trip plan... Happy to travel multi airlines.... I have done it for America but

Singapore airlines will allow multi city bookings on their website.

As for hotels, use someone like 'hotelscombined' to get a range of quotes. Sometimes they might be significantly cheaper than booking direct.

If something goes wrong with flights, contact the airline first. If al the flights are on the same ticket the airline will manage any onward travel. Departing from the EU they will be protected by EU legislation (Eu261).

Do not simply try and fix the problem yourself first. Doing so may invalidate any travel insurance claim. If they need to use their insurance (except for travel delay), they should ideally contact the insurance company before spending any money. That way the claim can be provisionally approved.
