Hey guys,

This may have already been answered. If so, please direct me to the relevant thread.

Question: My mate and I are looking at booking J seats (using points) to London via Dubai (stop over for a few days). So effectively a multi-city booking. As it stands, we should have enough points each - however, as I've read to date, it doesnt look like Qantas/Emirates offer too many J seats for points. We either both get seats together, or we don't at all (or look at alternative routes). Is there a rule against him or I transferring the points across to one another, and then booking 2 adult tickets (assuming that if you enter 2 adults, it'll show you the availability of 2 J seats)? Otherwise, we'd have to call up and ask how many J seats available for classic award points, and then booking individually and potentially run the risk of one of us getting a seat and the other not. (we're both Bronze)

I know points transfer only applies to family, but is this usually enforced? Our circumstances are that we have enough points to do it individually, but would like to be together.

Thanks in advance guys.

You're probably cousins in spirit if not in reality.

It might be easier to find award seats if you are a bit flexible though - do you absolutely have to be on the same flights?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

When you know what date you want to fly, come on here and ask if someone with an expertflyer.com subscription can check to see how many J award seats (U class) are available - then you will know!

Or pay the award assistance fee for booking on the phone. They should be able to extract points from 2 accounts to make the booking.

But first step would be doing some dummy bookings to find flights with 2 business seats, then immediate call to book.

Hey guys, we're at the stage that we're ready to book our flights...ive found 1 in March that goes from brisbane to dubai (via SG) which is J seats for both legs. Ideally, we'd like to go around start of April...is anyone able to check if there are any left? We're Bronze members so assuming we can see limited availability. We'd prefer to go on an A380 as itll be a once in a lifetime trip for us!

Thanks in advance.
